Bold colours for summer. So many different shaped leaves in so many different shades of green. I’m happier with this week’s quilt as I’ve returned to the trees being the main focus.
On daily walks it is possible to see the buds appearing on the trees, sometimes just a minute tip of colour on a branch, sometimes well formed and obvious. These buds herald the appearance of blossom and finally the fruit of the tree. Through summer the blossom fades and the fruit develops. Which blossom is your favourite? Which fruit do you welcome when it comes into season? Try explaining to a small child that the acorns and other nuts they might see in the park are actually fruit!
Are you making, drawing or thinking about trees this week?
