The Sea  Waves

What causes waves? Wind? Tides? Both. A wave is quite likely to be caused by the friction between wind and water. Small waves can be seen on puddles in windy weather. Large waves on the sea can cause huge damage on land due to the energy contained in them. Waves are also created by the gravitational pull of the sun and moon on the oceans. Far less common, thankfully, are the waves generated by earthquakes in the rocks on the sea bed, the resulting tsunami can be devastatingly destructive.

I find waves relaxing to watch as they break on a seashore and fun to paddle in.
