Straight Lines

Region 16 Block of the Month (or week) 2021

This month’s posts are inspired by living in the white line capital of the world (or so it seems), Edinburgh. White lines on the road started me thinking about more interesting ones.

Straight lines do not apparently exist in nature but are found everywhere in the man-made world

They can be visually interesting depending on spacing, colour, thickness etc. Invisible ones denote many well-known features such as the Equator. Straight lines are often used in metaphors.

This week I am trying out colour and spacing, also thickness of the line itself. Incidentally, when does a line become a stripe? Ponder on that one, I’d love to know your thoughts.
