About Region 16

Ann Hill. Regional Coordinator

Welcome to Region 16: From Your Regional Co-ordinator

Hello everyone and welcome to Region 16.

Region 16 consists of the whole of Scotland and the Islands, which makes it the largest geographical region in The Quilters’ Guild. The Regional Committee are all very enthusiastic, and committed to promoting and enhancing the appreciation of patchwork and quilting in Scotland. Committee members are always happy to help you find groups and classes within your local area and to welcome you to our Regional and Area events, or just to provide information about exhibitions and activities in the Region as a whole.

Region 16 hosts two Regional Events each year and there are several other Area Days. Information about these is contained in our quarterly ‘Newspatch’ magazine, or can be found in the Events section on our Regional pages.

We also hold a Members’ Only Residential Weekend at Stirling University every two years with specially invited tutors and an evening lecture on Saturday night (open to all). The next Residential Weekend will be held in Stirling in June 2019.

Our regional days are normally held in March and September.   Details of the Regional Days can be found in the current editions of Newspatch, our Region 16 newsletter.

Region 16 are grateful for the invitation each year to the springtime quilt show in Glagow.  Sadly this is the one and only show left in Scotland. We look forward to seeing you there.

Ann Hill,  is our Coordinator, she  has been a quilter for many years and is a great supporter of The Guild and Region 16, having recently served as Area Rep for South West and Dumfries. Please feel free to contact Ann or any member of the Scottish team if you would like to know more about Region 16 and, if you're holidaying in Scotland, please get in touch - we'd love to welcome you to our spectacular and lively country which provides so much inspiration to quilters and textile artists all over the world!

Happy Quilting!
